# Craft plugins

In general, we strive to use as few plugins as possible.

Somewhere down the line, they will always complicate updates, reach end-of-life, or be abandoned.

Plugins have their place when they bring *real value* to the project. When they do, we try to rely on plugins from developers with a good reputation and a track record of updates.

**Use non-destructive plugins** like *MatrixMate* instead of database-altering ones like *Neo* if possible.
